Safety first

Training is controlled and progressive. Parents must disclose injuries or health conditions, and a parent or legal guardian completes all required participation documents.

Fitness to participate

Before taking part in ANY class, including a free trial, each participant confirms that they are of sound mind, are participating voluntarily, are physically able to participate, and have no undisclosed injury, illness or medical condition that would make participation unsafe. Participants must disclose relevant conditions, stop if unwell or injured, and follow all safety instructions. A parent or legal guardian must act for a minor.

Risk of serious injury or death

Martial arts are contact activities. Training may include striking, kicking, falls, throws, takedowns, grappling, joint locks, chokeholds, pad work, physical conditioning, and weapons drills using sticks, padded weapons and training knives. Risks include contact with people, floors, walls and equipment and may result in property loss, illness, bruising, cuts, sprains, fractures, concussion, permanent disability, paralysis or death.

Assumption of risk and release

To the fullest extent permitted by British Columbia law, participation means the participant freely accepts and assumes all inherent and other risks and agrees to release and waive claims, including claims alleging negligence, against Peter Leung, Formless Fighter, and any current or former affiliations, coaches, trainers, instructors, affiliates, partners, corporations, volunteers, landlords, property owners, tenants, agents, representatives, successors and assigns connected with the training or premises.

Dispute resolution

Any dispute must first be submitted to confidential, good-faith mediation in Vancouver, British Columbia before either party starts a court proceeding, except where urgent relief is legally required. British Columbia law applies.
